2 Towns Ciderhouse
HISTORY OF 2 TOWNS CIDERHOUSE
In 2010 long-time childhood friends Lee Larsen and Aaron Sarnoff-Wood met over pints of craft beer on a rainy Pacific Northwest night. Both were ready for a challenge and what started out as a few too many and a chat about how fun it’d be to open a brew pub, ended with friends banding together to launch 2 Towns Ciderhouse–a cider company committed to true craft cider, rooted in the Pacific Northwest’s bountiful fruit.
Lee crunched some numbers and began sourcing juice; Aaron started drafting up logos and layouts. Inspired by their travels through Europe and by Lee’s time living in Spain, they started some test batches in a basement; which they debuted at Lee’s wedding to a wild reception. Their plans officially took shape when they rented a three car taxi garage outside of Corvallis, moved in a couple wine tanks, built a walk in cooler, and started their first batch of cider.
CURRENT DAY
2 Towns Ciderhouse now operates out of two Oregon locations, including a production space dedicated to its barrel aging program, attached to the Tap Room on HWY 34, and a separate production space in south Corvallis. 2 Towns Ciderhouse produced 10,000 BBL’s in 2015 and currently serves the entire West Coast and other select markets. With over 50 employees it is Oregon’s largest craft cider producer and was voted one of Oregon Business Journals Best places to work, multiple years in a row.
